Yes, DDM sales a kit like that and recommends it for track use only and recommends just a Magnaflow resonator with their kit for the 1.4. I personally will be going with just a muffler (and possible a short resonator as well), I have a 4 1/2 year old son that rides in the car all the time and prefer to keep my cars just a little louder than stock with free flowing exhuasts.

How is 250 a lot? DDM is the only one with a bolt on exhaust out right now and it runs 575 with a resonator. I was looking at a Flowmaster U Fit kit and that runs $275 just for pipe and you still have to build it and weld it up yourself plus a muffler/resonator of your choice. Now compared to a protype exhaust that costs nothing or is free I guess $250 bucks is a lot.... But, to the rest of us, that Magnaflow exhaust wont be had for less than $250, it will probably MSRP for $550+ and you might be able to find it for $400.

In my opinion, $250 including install is an amazing deal.
It costed me ~$180 for my universal (stainless steel) 2.5" electric exhaust cutout, and another ~$120 to get it installed (while having the resonator removed). (~$300 total)
Also, I think you should probably keep the resonator. My cutout is located after my cats. (So it's essentially a catback exhaust minus the muffler and resonator), and there is A LOT of drone in low rpms once the car is warmed up. It does sound very nice though.
I will probably get a turn down tip so that I can hear more wonderful turbo spooling sounds, and less drone.

What he said. 2 cats and turbo muffle it plenty. I ran with just one cat and no muffler for a while and I liked it... So with both cats it will be nice straight piped.

I'm in California, and I have yet to have a cop pull me over for my exhaust the few times I have driven by one without closing the cutout. (Then again, my car is bone stock aesthetically other than lowering springs, and I don't speed too often.)
