definitely. too much stress and deformation of the tire. It'll get you back to town but then it's time for a new tire.
Cars, on the other hand seem to do pretty well with them. If it was my car I'd take it in and get it patched but if you already have the kit and feel adventurous it won't hurt to try and plug it yourself. Worst case, it doesn't hold and you take it in and pay the $10 to get it patched.
Not a fan of tire plugs. Its a pain in the ass when you have to fix a leaking plug. I have plugged one tire on my own vehicle and that was because I didnt feel like buying a new one at the time. The only other puncture I have had was through the sidewall.
Never used tire plugs before. Hope it works for you. If I have the money I usually buy new tires in pairs.
