Drivers door weather strip wearing out at 2000 miles?

The rubber seal is meant to seal the door and that's all. I wouldn't cover this if I was a service manager, if you rub it every time you get in and out of your car, it will wear out. I work in a service department and drove a customers new BMW 530i and noticed he had already wore out the door seal. He was a older, heavier guy and the seat was farther back which resulted in his butt rubbing it every time he gets in and out.
