With a few mods, the Sonic 1.4t is more economical than the "eco" Cruze. With other mods, it is far sportier. While Chevy -could- offer a package that basically took care of doing some of those mods for us, it doesn't look like they have any interest in doing so, and to the limited extend they do, they do so far less (watch out, Irony ahead) economically.
If a car gets one more mile per gallon, and is already getting 40 miles per gallon, that means you're saving what, 2.5%? If you spend $2000 a year on gas (about 2 tanks per week at today's prices) that means you save about 50 bucks a year, life of car maybe 10 years if you push it, so $500 saved, show me an "eco" version of a car that costs less than $500.
