It does get hot enough at a idle but they are programmed to not cycle when sitting still cuz they tend to light things on fire. Some will hit 1700%s so they are designed to cycle when the truck is moving to keep air flow

That 1700* is very localized and doesn't need to regen that long. The bigger issue is the cetane. If the US didn't export all the good diesel it won't be a problem. It should be at least 50 cetane and with a bio mix, higher. That would fix most issues.

Yes I agree and so is the heat in you catalitic converter and ive seen them light things on fire. And the regen times very to how bad they are pluged up.
Highest octaine for diesel I've seen was 65 I forgot where it was at
