I'm living vicariously through your car at this point. This quote is from the full mustache less grille thread page six I believe.

As of right now the "stock mustacheless" and "staggered" designs are all I'm offering for the initial run. These will be available with out without the "stache cover" behind the visual area(similar to the RS style grill). Cost for either style will start at $300 plus shipping. Plate mount will be available for an extra $20.

I'm fairly certain he can put the plate wherever you want, so go ahead and order it. I'll be waiting.

I do have a fender hole from a parking lot incident at only 35 miles on the odo that the plate can cover, guess I never thought of moving the license to hide it

We might be closer to an RS style than I thought. I remember SonicR doing and RS grill swap on his non-RS sonic. If the tabs are in the same locations and the shape of the tabs are the same, all I would need is a new profile for the trim. I'm waiting on his response....

Busy week with teaching starting back up this week and getting ready to move this coming weekend. Sorry for the delayed responses.

Not trying to be a jerk, or down playing your awesome work, I'm just curious. You ever see one of your grills selling around the $150 mark?

I KNOW, I KNOW your price is competitive with other options.

Don't yell at me, just can't get myself to spend that much on a grill...

Unfortunately, I cant price these that low. They are laser cut and hand fabricated, each to order.

I really want one but I need a front license plate and the pictures don't look like it's possible

I can build a standoff plate mount basically anywhere on the grill, including offsetting it similar to the image of the "Preloader"

If you do not have fogs, Be sure to take a look at my plate mount as an option. WI mandates it as well.

I apologize for not getting back to you. I have been waiting for more clear answers on the tabs and haven't got anything concrete yet. If nothing comes through, I'll keep my eyes out for a used RS grill to take measurements off of and eventually modify it for Non-RS Sonics.

Also this limit on PMs sucks with trying to keep history.

I'll be getting an RS style grill around the holiday season to play around with. My apologies it will take a little longer as I have limited options for testing. Luckily a couple locals are willing to be guinea pigs when I need them.

Is this available?

Its on my car right now but yes its available. PM me if you are seriously interested.

Side note: Building these to order hasn't taken off like I expected it to so I'm just going to build a couple at a time the way I want and see whose interested in what I come up with.

Installation/top grille

Can anyone give brief description of what it takes to remove and replace the grilles? Can it be done without removing the bumper cover?

The picture on the first page of the thread show the top grille and it appears to be proud of the opening. Is this just an illusion from the picture or does it protrude beyond the bumper cover? I also noticed that the "stock" grille has "sharp" edges on the surround while the other appears to have a radius on the edge. Is that correct too?

Must remove the bumper. Not very hard just search the posts. Never did it before and took about 30 minutes following others posts with tips, tricks and pics.
