Gauge Pod Ideas?

Are you talking about something similar to the four pack auxiliary gauges on the Camaro? I noticed that one of the gauges for the supercharged ZL1 is a boost gauge. If something like this is what you are thinking of, that would be a cool upgrade to the turbo Sonic.

My buddy has a mazdaspeed 6 and was thinking of replacing one of the vents with a boost gauge. I love the look of it personally.

Yah more/less something like that, except only housing two 52mm gauges directly in front of the shifter. I'm not a big fan of gauges up in public view on the a-pillar. Another possibility is using those little side pocket things to the left/right of the vents?

That vent gauge is neat but not sure I'd want to 86 one of the rectangular vents there on the dash. I did that one on of my old DSM's and always kinda regretted it when it was hot out
I think some sort of slip-in housing made of fiberglass eventually would be the ticket.

WRX/STI Three Gauge Pod Center Dash
I'd love to see GM Performance or Autometer come out with a top dash-tray replacement gauge mount pod. When I looked into buying the WRX a couple years ago, they offered a three instrument pod that was a factory clock replacement in the center of the dashboard. On the top of the Sonic dashboard there is a similar, removable piece that could EASILY... perhaps, be replaced with a gauge mount of this type. Maybe even carbon fiber... I'd settle for matte black plastic.

I would go with the cubby to the left of the headunit. The whole point of having a gauge is to monitor whatever it is that gauge is for (boost, oil pressure, whatever). Having it burried down below the hvac controls or in front of the shifter makes it pretty difficult to view that information easily/safely when you are driving. Just my .02

I think this is a great idea, except the only round vents we have are on the sides and at least for me, thats where I get the most comfort, from the driver side round vent....

I have been eyeing the top of the dash for a while. It would probably be fairly simple to graft this:
52mm UNIVERSAL DUAL DASH 2 GAUGE POD MOUNT HOLDER 2inch | eBay
On the tray at the top of the dash. Use plastic filler to smooth it out, and then paint it your favorite color.

Anyone know the exact dimensions for the side pockets next to the head unit or where i might be able to find them thats where i want to put a boost gauge but want to design my own pod to fit in there like a glove
