The car being built in the US was a large consideration for myself. I'm also a sucker for a small displacement turbocharged engine. And also large displacement turbocharged engines, but thats a subject for another thread.

I've been watching this model for a year. I'm 52 years old and love cars. My first car was a 1972 MGB teal blue convertible. Haven't given up the MG thing as I'm driving a 1963 MG 1100 sedan as my daily driver until my Crystal Red Tintcoat Sonic hatch turbo arrives next week. (Yes, the dealer called and said it arrives on Dec. 23rd.) Christmas car!

The Six Speed auto is from United States

The 1.4 Turbo is also from United States

The Six Speed manual is from Austria.

Yes, it only has 47% domestic content, but it was built right here in the USA. It's the only subcompact made in the US.

I wonder if that is accurate on all stickers, when the 1.4 Auto's roll out, that will be two parts American.

Once I heard that the Sonic was going to be offered with a small turbo and built in the US ** I knew that was the car for me!

Reduce our dependence on foriegn oil and support the US economy and workers.

** on other threads, I think I remember the 1.4T engine was US built and the trans in Austria. I will find out tomorrow!!! My car should finally be in!
