I followed suit and bought a Honda Civic front lip spoiler

I took sonic007 advise and bought a lip spoiler for the 99'00' Civic to install on my Sonic. It took a little more time than expected (initially I thought there was no way in hell it would fit), but with patience and a heat gun I got it installed.
I drilled into the bumper and used small "christmas trees" to attach it. I've never really trusted tape to hold this kind of stuff on, so I decided to use these instead. I don't intend on removing the spoiler so drilling holes didn't bother me at all.
I bought one that was abs, but had it had a carbon fiber "weave" molded into the plastic. It actually looks real.

You dont need all that for this mod. Just some double sided tape and a heat gun.

That's the same one, there's hundreds of em out there. No trimming required, just a heat gun to get it to mesh w the corners a little better. Our Sonics are more rounded in the front whereas the civic takes harder curves in the corner, so you've got to heat up the corners to get them to lay flat on the sonic's bumper. It's a pretty straight forward process, I'm actually researching something for the back as we speak. I'd love to find something that'll match front w back without breaking the bank.

It's for aerodynamics, but seems to be a good indicator of "hey, don't get any closer than this or you'll lose your front bumper!"
