Hello everyone!
On August 28th, 2024 my 6T40 transmission at 304,306 miles grenaded itself. It had set both these codes before we discovered that for lack of a better phrase "my transmission had a disco party and all six gears were invited)
Not complaining about the mileage at that point with the miles and about 90 autocross events it owed me nothing.
So we replaced it with a used 6T40 out of Ironic a 2013 Victory Red LTZ Sonic Sedan that had 103,000 miles on it. We were able to successfully swap the TCM/Valve body over after inspecting it and no damage to it was found.
Fast forward to September 22nd, 2024 I took it to the second autocross of the fall season (By this point we had put about 1600 miles and an autocross event on it) It was going fine the first two runs. Did my work assignment came back to the car. Started it up moved it to the start line (all in first gear at a max speed of 10 mph) went to launch it at the start (Normal daily driving launch where you don't mash the pedal) and the "D" started flashing and bam CEL with the codes P0700 and P2534. We noticed TCM Module 1 Fuse 20 was blown and TCM Fuse 29 seem slightly singed on the metal connector that plugs into the fuse box.
Towed the car home and went to disconnect the battery when I noticed it was extremely easy to to disconnect the negative battery cable (like maybe 2 turns of a 10mm wrench)
Thought I had it solved when I left the battery disconnected for about 8.5 hours and replaced both fuses. It was fine for a day and half worth of driving and then I went to hard launch and BAM same thing occurred. This time though fuse 29 was fine. However the TCM Module 1 fuse 20 was blown. I went to check the battery again and same thing. maybe 2 turns and I was able to remove it.
So part of me thinks that the lead connector for the battery has become misshapen so it allows for loose contact to occurr.
However another part of me thinks well maybe the TCM/Valve body is actually failing itself now.
Thoughts anyone
For at this point I just need her to survive long enough for me to get another daily and she can just be an autocross car. She's seen some class wins in recent years including 1st in Class at the Tire Rack SCCA Romulus National Tour Autocross Event.
