K&N intake

Just curious has anyone else snapped the L bracket that connects to the heat shield to the motor mount. Noticed mine snapped a couple days ago. And did K&N replace it for you?

Did you contact K&N? Did they replace it for you? I'm pretty sure most people go with ZZP, DDM and now MPFab intakes so your peer base is probably limited.

I guess I've been driving my car pretty hard. I'm actually going to fab up a bracket that doesn't connect the heat shield to the motor mount. This should reduce vibrations that snapped it to begin with

My K&N has been on for about 8 months. Bracket is still intact.

k&n imo makes the BEST filter, oil on maf is a myth if oiled properly and the oil / fiber combo filters insanely well if you aren't some nerd filtering microscopic dirt through it in masses. They hold a stupendous reputation and should warranty it with little to no questions! They warrantied my k&n drop in filter just because it had some of the rubber molding a little deformed and it bothered me. They had me send it in and swapped me no problem after showing them a photo.

I'm sure I could call them up and get a new bracket but who's to say it won't snap again. I tend to be pretty hard on the gas and get wheel hop from time to time. this could be the reason it snapped. I made a bigger L bracket that won't use the motor mount.

I cant imagine them replacing the whole assembly for just one broken L bracket. I have the new one fabed up I just have to drill holes and paint it.

I really like it. As any of them you hear the turbo more.

I have 15000 miles on my intake and its still running strong. One thing that keeps happening to me is the bolt in the intake connecting into the top of the heat shield keeps popping out resulting in my intake laying down. Its really quite annoying.

I've used thread lock on my bolts. I had the same problem losing nuts and bolts.
