No you shouldn't need to change any fuses. Only resistors for the turn signal bulbs.

Isn't there a replacement flasher available to correct the hyper-flashing without tapping a resistor into the circuit? I would also like the install LED's into the tail lights of my Sonic and was hoping someone could point me in the direction of the flasher so I can some research.

Seems if there is a flasher that corrects the issue this would be the way to go.

That would be the easiest solution but I don't think the Sonic has one. GM started doing away with them at least as far back as 1998.

I had LED's in my F150 from superbrightleds.com, they offered a replacement flasher that corrected the hyper-blinking. Unsure as previously said, that there is one available for the Sonic.

i just bought a pair of 7444 led switchbacks and load resistors. i'm not sure what wires i need to connect the resistors to for the front.

I was looking in to this mod tonight, and came across the different wiring that can be used in this socket. Standard vs CK wiring. The difference matters little with incandescent bulbs but can make a huge difference with LEDs. Does anyone know which way our turn signal sockets are wired?

Brand new set of switchbacks for me too. Wow these things are bright, they add a lot of close visibility to the sides. You can see the glow on the road. I got this set: iJDMTOY 27-SMD-5050 Bi-Color White/Amber

Did you have to use load resistors with them ?

Also I was looking at some bulbs on eBay that state they have built-in load resistors...but if they actually work to correct the issue...is another guess.

I have not put on load resistors yet. The only issue is they hyper blink and throw a code. The ones with built in resistors look good, but you sacrifice led space for the heatsinks.
