Very much agree... . . even though the plastic parts are supposed to be thermoplastic, they don't hold up. That, along with the high coolant temperatures that the engine is allowed to run with. . spell early aging of those plastic parts. There are some thermostat and radiator fan mods that can be done to let the engine run 20F or more cooler.
On the other hand, at least we have the forum here and the Cruze forum that covers a lot of these things.
Most of these "wear-age-repair" parts are low cost and even DIY repairable, unlike some of the comparable foreign brands.
We bought a Sonic knowing these things and liked the 1.8L MPFI we have as more old school, no CVT, real 5 lug wheels, pretty solid chassis and roomy.
Many get +130,000 miles on a Sonic with minimal repairs.
