Hello, got my Black 1.4 Turbo Sonic 2 months ago and loving every moment with it! I have a lot of plans for it, and for it being my first car and all I am learning a lot along the way.

Painted rims

I decided to paint the rims I have on the car to save money and to find out what the car would look like. Turned out to be a good decision on my part and also a fun thing to do on the weekend. Plan on blacking the whole car out!
Here is before and after pics of my Sonic

I am planing to put a gloss on them this Saturday, I ran out of time when I painted them last weekend.

Blacked out bow tie

Blacked out the bow ties tonight and will have a pic of the back of my car tomorrow for better light, I also took the Lt and Turbo tags off and just left the Sonic, to represent and it just looked more styling.

Also tinting windows hopefully Friday if not then by the end of the weekend. legal tint in Fl. 28% front and 15% back

That's what I wanted, what you got....
I wanted the Black Sedan, 1.4 Turbo w/ 6 speed manual... stuck with auto (for now)

Everything looks good, keep it up

I used Dupli-color wheel paint for the rims, and sanded it down at the beginning with 320 grit sand paper (wet or dry). I used one coat of primer and two coats of black. Might do another black, but definitely shining them up with clear coat gloss this weekend.

And I really didn't want an auto, stick is just so much fun and i feel more in control. Glad to see you guys like it!

I wouldn't gloss the 15's. They look better flat. And get those windows tinted. Other than that, good representin' for the sedans!

Just don't know the whole car is always shiny and everyone (except you) has said they should be shinier like the car. If i do gloss them and they don't look good i can always sand it down and repaint and for the back of the car pic here it is, like i said took off the LT and Turbo tags and blacked out logo.

just make sure you shine the tires then. cuz then itd definitely look odd

You mean with tire dressing? I have not heard of anything else that shines up tires.

Got appointment for tinting the windows tomorrow at 9:30

yeah. tire shine. IMO, the best consumer shine to buy is armorall. its a spray can. looks great. and stays on long. that will give your car a great complete look. trust me. also get 5% tint! lol

5% is a little to dark for me haha and i do not want to get pulled over, most Fl. cops are sticklers if ya know what i mean. Thanks for the info i will definitively take a look into it.

I like the whole blackout look. I've never been a real fan of blacking out but it looks good for your car. Back cleaned up really well without the badges

Got tint installed

Went 20% all around, and the guy that tinted my windows forgot the front strip so getting that done tomorrow. Turned out amazing though

Going for exhaust next :banana:

Also thinking about spoiler, if anyone has a suggestion hit me up!

Nice look dude. What exhaust are you going with? There are some new exhaust options out now.
I think a spoiler will definitely help the kinda plain backend of the sedan models have. I would love to see a nice lip spoiler done.

Thankyou and about the exhaust im thinking about the magnaflow that some people have on theirs on here seem pretty good and has the sound I am going for. But I will definitely shop around before I commit. That sounds like a good idea ill look into those lip spoilers.

Here's one I found on Sonicinsider, this appears to be the "z-spec" model. It's not too bad. Not quite what the car needs though IMO.
