I have the red sedan and im dying to black out the bow ties. how did you do it?

I got the idea and the stuff to use from another thread on here, i think in the exterior mods section. But its this black vinyle wrap at this link Amazon.com: Metro Gloss Black High Performance Vinyl Wrap Film 15"x12": Automotive
Then peel away the backing and stick a portion to the symbol, smooth it out and cut inside the indentation from the gold to the chrome, just be very carefull. I bought 2 ft of roll and had plenty left over, but for 2.95 per foot, its a very inexpensive way to get a very good look

Thanks for the post Therook that one looks nice, i might just stay with the way i have it now, and wait for others to post pics and decide then. I just don't want to look to much like a ricer

ill be blacking out the tail lights tomorrow and trying to take pics for sonic of the month i have alot more planed but i wanna see if i can place in the top three for where i stand now

New plans... LED lights inside (blue or green), halo headlights, maybe spoiler, sound system, exhaust, intake, and finally a tune.

i would say blue as all the stuff in the car comes blue inside, as in radio and stuff

ya i know :/ i really wanted green, i wish we could be able to switch the colors to the cluster and radio, but since im going to get a headunit soon, ill make sure to get one that does change colors if i got green and here is the VHT niteshade tail lights

Yes i used Krylon clear coat Gloss, i bought from advance auto parts for 6$ there is a really good DYI vid for VHT Nite shade on youtube, and from my research it looks like a good product and it looks really good overall by the way i only used 2 coats of the vht and 4 coats of the clear coat.

vht is easy to do, hey you can always change the led's in the head unit easy enough, and you wont lose the functions you get with stock head unit

i didn't know you could do that and ya it was suprisingly easy to do, i went to an audio store and talked prices but im going to get these put in my baby and they said i can keep the stock head unit 130$ to install everything and i might throw in some flood lights and leds in the trunk and floor. should be in the next week or so. I will upgrade slowly from this btw, and looking at the halo lights next :banana:

update * Just bought the amp and subs listed above, just went for it after 3 days of research.. hopefully if sounds good and hits pretty hard, i will post pics when it arrives and when i get it installed hopefully within the 6 day delivery time

if you can sodder and want to try it im sure the blue led's in the radio are easy to swap, i did it in my cobalt easy.

ya im going to try to do that, and could it be possible to switch out the lights in the speedometer?

i dont see why not but i dont know if id try that, accidently fry the radio and u can buy a replacement, not sure how hard it is to get the spedo fixed. you can try what i did with my switches i broke and put it together and say it jsut stoped working and hope they cover it anyways lol. which ever route make sure to be careful nobody likes to fry the electronics

I say do the swap if its up your alley. I will be doing mine as soon as I can get a hold of my guy and have him come down to play mad scientist on my display. Has anyone pulled the dash apart yet?

well i don't want to be the test subject on this one and be out of a speedometer. but i would like the radio switched out, i really want to go green in this car. It would be different then the others on here

UPS says my subs and amp are arriving tomorrow and i will have it installed this weekend and will post pics.

lol i dont blame you, theoretically blue+yellow = green so you can apply a yellow filter to a blue light right? lol sharpie mod?

how did they wire it? im trying to figure it out on mine right now and i can find a place to tap but i cant find which wire on the back of the radio is the power/remote wire for the amp.
