You should have learned to drive stick (manual) better, being this is your first time. Power shifting a 'lil Sonic, now that's funny. This is exactly why there's automatics, sounds like you should have got one instead. Even with that custom bracket, your powerful arm will probably still pull it out eventually. You should become a professional arm wrestler lmao!

I am learning to drive it better.
Haven't stalled for a few weeks, and my shifts are MUCH nicer than the hulk rage power shifts I was doing at first ^^

Follow this advice and your Bracket will hold. Arm wrestle it and it won't. Be gentle with her and she will take care of ya.

Not just you. Driving home yesterday and all of a sudden my transmission was gone, could only get it into 3rd and 4th. Hoping this is all that happened. Btw this is my 7th manual car, no power shifting or slamming it into gear. Will find out tomorrow what the issue is. Rather frustrating considering my car has 1100 miles on it.

When I said if your having issues with the 1-2 shift, just "bad ass" it in there, I did mean like that
I've been pretty rough with my 5 but also don't try to send the shifter into the back seat. Glad you got it sorted, and there's something about the car you drive off the lot that you want to keep fixing rather than replace.

I had the same problem happen to me at 3500 miles albeit only once and luckily I was literally a 1/4 mile from work, was without my car for the weekend as it was thurs afternoon when it happened and they ordered parts fri mourning plus 2 business days shipping. No problems since, the service writer never told me the problem but I figured something popped out.
Thanks to you I know what it was this is my first manual I've owned but working on cars for a few years and working on a farm a large part of my lifeive got a good grasp on shifting.
