Can't find it

Is it in the shift lever housing?

Took the shift selector housing apart and it's not there either. Where is this thing?

I assume for a manual transmission. My old Aveo was located on the front top of the transmission and controlled the back-up light also. My only other thought would be one of the switches at the top of the pedals. Not sure. My sonic is an automatic. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

We did eventually find out where it is but unfortunately can't fix it at home. It's located inside the transmission so it has to be taken to a professional mechanic to be replaced and then reprogrammed. Ridiculous design but it is what it is.
