I feel like the flags are recognized by most as a Corvette "thing". I would have liked for concepts to be named and carry the "SS" name more. I would think Corvette owners to take the most offense to this.

I have the checked flags on my Corvair, so I do not consider them to be an exclusive to Corvette thing.

To clarify: the crossed flags were put there by Chevy when the car was built. IE: OEM.

The flags basically were on all Chevy sports cars back in the 60s and 70s. Plus the Corvette flags are different than that of the concepts

I really like the white one, either way these look promising and honestly when you look back at what Pontiac was planned to become, you may as well swell the chevrolet ranks with driving excitement.

From what I remember reading Pontiac was going to have Cars to compete with Scion as well as be bargain BMW in its higher tier, Buick to fight Lexus etc.....with these little cars and the Chevy SS on its way Chevy seems to actually be offering something for everyone....now if only they green light a Chevy SS ute I'd be able to purchase a dream mobile. Buick is a discussion all on its own...Park Avenue!

The TRU 140S looks pretty interesting, but neither are my style. I'll stick with 4 doors

But it's nice to see Chevy developing a pretty broad spectrum of sporty cars

I hope they develop both cars according to Chevy they wernt well received which I don't know how, the 140 looks so bad ass

I did not know Chevy had indicated they were not well received, altho I do remember neither were well received by the Camaro community. I attend the Detroit Auto Show at a time and day when there are the fewest people there and there seemed to be as much interest in these two concepts as in the Sonic RS on display and more interest in these Chevy products than in the Cadillac ATS also on display.

GM WOULD BE AFRAID to risk building an equivelant to the Toyo/suba 86 frs brz package. It would be kind of like Uncle Ben's Converted Ricer...... :banana: (that's a joke... you know the old Uncle Ben's brand of white rice - it was called Converted Rice for some reason - I think it cooked quicker or something - so a Chevy smaller rear drive coupe that had drifting possibilities and such... like the FRS... well.... that would be an American ricer , no? )

The 140 is FWD and the 130 is RWD: Chevrolet Tru 140S Concept is the meaner Cruze

You can get the RWD version of the platform today, complete with a 2.0l turbocharged engine and a TR3160 six speed manual transmission: it is called the Cadillac ATS and the turbo is an option.

I could definitely see myself buying the 140 as a graduation present to myself in about 3 years. heres to hoping chevy makes good on these concepts.

and did i read that its a 1.4 with direct injection? i'm betting vince at trifecta could put in some good work on this little powerplant.

Yep, the engineering has been done for direct injection. The cost is what keep it from being offered today but it is a good bet the 1.4T will have DI by the time the Cruze major change takes place in a couple of years.
