So I recently Purchased a 2012 Chevy Sonic LT. Automatic Transmission 1.8L
When I Go To Refill On Gas, When I Go To Start The Car It starts then immediately dies, I try again and I have to lay on the gas... it shimmys and Lights starts flickering about 5-10 min it's back to normal.... What could this be!? I just replaced the Head gasket.

You can try and clean your throttle body with throttle body cleaner.

Mine acted crazy and showed traction light and all that and then would be normal and then come back it was the coil pack 4 times this has happened so I’m gonna just do the ls swap on it

Code will be a cylinder misfire but also depending on who put the head gasket on they also need to address what made it go bad or was it just mileage a lot of people will say it just needs head gasket but don’t say they ran it hot for a million miles overheated and the head gasket blew and they got oil and water when it could also have alot more so make sure it just needed the head gasket I bought a 1.4 that only needed a head gasket lol needless to say I’m attempting to turbo my 1.8 instead of even trying on the 1.4

If it happens mainly after just filling up. . . it could be the the purge solenoid near the back and top of the engine on the passenger side near the firewall. Low cost part. . . buy a GM ACDelco original as some off brand parts do not connect well.
