Man, am I the only one not seeing these gerat mpgs? I'm at about 1500 miles on my 1.4 turbo and I'm only seeing averages of 29 and below. I drive an average of 10 miles a day, if just travelling to and from work, and more on the weekends. My average speed is below 40 and I do have plenty of stop signs on the way to work. I'm sure that has a lot to do with it, but even on the weekends when driving across town and whatnot, I'm still only seeing averages hanging around 29-30. My last fill up was with Phillips 66 89, and if anything I've been experiencing lower mpgs than 87 e10. I also feel a little more hesitation when I accelerate with the 89 ocatan. I'm not complaining too much because my old vehicle only got about 9mpgs, but I'm just kinda bummed I'm not getting the kinds of numbers that more of you are seeing.
have a 1.4t manual hatch. put in k and n 33-2510 air filter, and some less restrictive intake piping. with conservative driving the dic reads 50 on the highway after 20 or 30 miles. average 40 around town...pissing off a lot of people who are apparently in a bigger hurry then me along the way...lol. combined after a week of mixed driving, dic reads 42.4. lovin it:banana:
if you want more details on the mod send me a message. as for manual drivers, shift just at 2 and no more when possible. the turbo motor has enough low end torque for this type of driving
