I go by the DIC for these numbers, which tends to be about 2mpg optimistic. Close enough for me, now that I know. 1.4L 6MT
If I beat on the car every time I drive it, all city I get about 28mpg.
Now, I beat on it a vast majority still but use the idle-down fuel cutoff and average 33-35mpg. I could knock on 40's door if I wanted, but it's not worth it to me.
Highway, 70MPH I avg about 41mpg. I slip streamed a large trailer once and got about 48mpg. good times.

Im 62k miles. 1.4 6spd manual .I was averaging 39mpg. Almost all highway and DFW traffic. Changed my tires to Bridgestone turanzas and my milage has suffered ever since. The last month I have been averaging around 36mpg. All numbers are from the dic.

What's wrong with my

finally updated my fuelly again(137- 58,000 miles) and am missing many(30,000 miles and mostly summer) receipts... can't find them anywhere....
at this point we haven't had any real hot days in a row so I still can't match apples to apples on the trans, but I don't see a lot of difference in mileage. so I'm figuring they got it right.
have done 60 mpg(64.2 on gauge) on a downhill stretch out of Ann Arbor to Detroit area. best so far this year on a 500 plus tank is about 52mpg...its always something. taking a break on trying for 700 mile tank until my schedule stabilizes..

600 plus tank
todays handy work. 8 legs, cash sale. true ...its not an actual 600 tank. add the two together. I just ran out of time. 52.46 miles per gallon. file attached is the fuel receipt. picture is 10 miles before fueling. would have come in at about 612 miles. still have one notch at bottom of gauge.

Right now im at 37.8 mpg. When full im getting 404 mile tanks.

I think I am probably around about 60%highway now and I still cant complain about the economy of the 1.8
This past weekend was almost a 1000 miles of driving with about half of it loaded down with camping things and two bikes on the hitch mount rack. Still averaged 42.58 MPG for the trip. Next year I need to take a week to go tour and camp the U.P. though. A couple days wasnt enough.

Just took delivery of a 2014 turbo auto Sonic sedan, LT trim and standard 15-inch alloy wheels. And some gas numbers to report. A predominantly highway tank, typical speeds 69 to 73 mph, AC on continuously, still running tire pressure I was provided with at the dealer, but including an hour and a half of city or badly delayed road construction driving, and the two segments of travel broken by an overnight stop; 437 miles, Holiday brand 87 octane gas fill, of indeterminate ethanol content because it was Minnesota which does not require labeling, 39.14 mpg based on a subsequent fill of 11.164 gallons. This tank brought total mileage up to just over 1800, so we're past the break-in. The DIC showed 42.1, which is a much bigger deviation from the hand calculated figures than my first four tanks, and I'm curious about why that would be. It was very hot weather for this tank, so evaporation, perhaps, or the heat (mostly upper 80s to mid 90s indicated on the MyLink thermometer) simply throwing off the DIC?

So I made a trip out to Michigan's Adventure yesterday, 164 miles each way. Four adults (two couples) totaling ~850lbs and an extra 100lbs in stuff doing 70MPH down the highway and A/C on light (85*F ambient) I avg'd 33.8mpg, which would normally be about 38-39 with just me.
My DIC tends to be off be 2mpg or less, fyi. These cars are very weight sensitive.
Ran 93 octane, trifecta tune, intake, lowered and 35psi in 215/50/17's/
