oil changes

Liqui Moly 5-6K is the most I would do.

Depending on the LM those must be ALL city miles. Elf, Liqui, Motul, and M1 in various forms are 10k plus oils in a highway based commute.

The above have diesel oils that crush 10k OCI as per car maker. With the above, I would argue that 13 to 18k mile OCIs are easy with my commute, which pushes 500 a week.

How often are yall changing the oil? Going off the oil life %, I should change the oil every ~11,000 miles. Does anyone feel that is a little bit too long between oil changes? I had my first oil changed at 4k and Im a little nervous about warranty issues related to changing it going off of the oil % life, considering you can't document that you went 11k miles because "the car told me it was ok". This goes against the owners manual of recommended services.

Had my first oil change at 5910 miles and my second oil change at 15919. I'm currently at 24879 and planning on getting my oil change this weekend.

Remotelink is telling me the oil life is at 14%.

I live in the Pacific Northwest, travel the Canadian mts a lot, high altitude. Probably going to change my oil around 20 or 30% on the OLM. I have a 2013 model, but those who are claiming super high miles and OLM only being at 50% seems odd though.

Synthetic is required, right? From what I saw, the only Dex approved was synthetic. I'm assuming all new engines usually require synthetic...

Synthetic is best on a turbo motor. IMO! I've seen what conventional oil has done to turbos. Gunks it all to hell. That was off of a srt4 if I'm correct. I use royal purple but use a good brand and change it normally I like to be in the 5k area. 3 is a bit excessive for me but no harm.

I personally do not look at the oil. Keep it simple as mileage changes and you will be good. 10,000 + for an oil change? Hell no. Not gonna wait that long 7,500 is pushing it for me

Yes the 1.8 requires dex. But I use Mobil one full synthetic. Dexos is only a synthetic blend and for almost the same price may as well upgrade to full synthetic. I also live in the north, North Dakota so synthetic is a must especially when it reaches -20F in the winter.
