Car sounds like a belt noise, and vacuum leak. But its not a belt, its just a really high pitch noise. Kind of screwed now because im 2hrs away from anywhere remotely i can get parts. I cant seem to find the leak even though i hear it vividly. After searching, it appears it may be the valve coved due to bad pcv diaphragm? Any ideas on how i can investigate this further and possibly get the car home without causing too much damage. Thanks.

Pull the cover for the ignition system off. You will see a circular section on the back-driver side of the cam cover. There will be a small rectangular hole there. With the engine idling, stick your finger over this hole. If you notice air being pulled in there, then the cam cover needs to be replaced.

You should also verify that both pcv check valves are working. Particularly the internal one inside the intake manifold. If it's missing or not sealing you might have to replace the intake manifold as well or do this mod: 2011-2016 Cruze/Sonic/Trax 1.4L Turbo Intake Manifold PCV Check Valve Fix

The car will be ok to drive in the short term but it will idle like crap. Avoid driving under boost if the internal checkvalve has failed as the turbo is now pressurizing the crank case.

Thanks for the response. Ended up being covered under powertrain warranty. Hopefully will get the car back today and all will be well. limping a car home being in the mountains was no bueno.

I would have them check the pcv non-return check valve in the intake manifold as well (orange nipple should be present).

It is at #4 in the picture.

Should look like this inside the hole after the pcv line is disconnected.

I've got this noise, but its still there after changing the valve cover and the new PCV is fine. It seems to be coming from further back by the firewall, by the intake manifold? Same kind of codes too.

So theres a hose near the back of the engine on top that goes from somewhere on the air intake i found that the one on my car was loose and would cause codes to throw for running lean just had to push it on and hear a click and codes were gone but turbo was blown too so it still threw the codes but less frequently .-. XD
