Wow this is interesting because wouldnt run worth a **** before I got the new tune. Actually I couldnt even drive the car it would cut out and go lean real bad when it started to make any boost at all. You need the tune as soon as you do it. I have a picture but uploading on here is a pita anymore..

hmmm, stratton how radical did you go on yours? i just ground the tumblers flush and smoothed out the seams in the intake, I was also running a mildly ported turbo/header and a tiny bit of throttle work all on the stock tune.
i was also running the stock filter and intake, could that have something to do with it?
so did everyone else that did this mod already have a tune?

Its funny but i did realize that about all people that had done this mod already had a tune. The thing is when you already have a tune you are basically forcing the cars readings to stay within such small parameters. I can see how this would possibly really mess with it.
I used to help a friend of mine build turbo honda's years ago and the slightest mod on a custom tune and forget it. Wouldnt run for @#$%. Yet you can take a stock GSR motor and stuff radical type r cams in it and it would run fine provided you were running the stock tune.
I am wondering if the stock tune has more capability of making adjustments in order to compensate. I still would like to see someone else have done this with stock tune and that it worked.

It was a hard one to figure out eric.
My process involved taking off in first, shifting into second and holding the gas down until my engine made E fast 2 furious noises. I also had to look at the tachometer to note the rpms. After that I shifted straight to 6th gear and resumed hypermiling.

I just found out that the ECP tune (which most Trifecta'd 1.4T's are) will allow you to port your intake without the need for an mmediate retune for it to run right. I should have figured that much, but I wanted to be safe.
That being said, I'm porting this Saturday. Pics to come.
