Possible GM Vented Oil Fill Cap Overboost, PCV Freezing, ETC

Ok. . I came across this at one of the Camaro sites. For anyone interested, GM has both an older service bulletin as well as a part that is recommended for releaving pent up crankcase pressure should that condition arise.

I have ordered a couple and will verify fit. Again. . this is a recommended GM part for similar freeze or overboost issues on previous GM cars.

It also seems to go by an AC/Delco part # FC219. If you get one, make sure if looks like the one in the picture below with the bayonet type slotted thread. There are some that appear different.

It visually . . appears the one below will fit.

Jay Tee, Did you ever get this one resolved? Looking at getting a vented Cap for my 1.4L Sonic, not sure if the oil cap you are referencing here is for the 1.8 or the 1.4 or if its the same.

Is the cap you have now a non vented cap ?

If so that is what you need to use, I am not sure of the consequences of putting a vented cap on a non vented system.
