The BNR/forge units will hold boost better, the BPV will hold boost better and not need a tune, the BOV will hold boost better and get you that "cobra hiss" you like but will need he budget tune or better (ECP feature is needed). Do you need to upgrade? That's up to you. You go from a rubber diaphragm and plastic cap to a solid billet aluminum piece with the ability to tune it with the included yellow stiffer spring. The tune would be my first priority as it is the biggest HP bang for the buck and only increase the benefits of everything else that is done to the car.

RDSS do you know when we would want to put in the stiffer spring?? I understand it will hold the valve closed longer but when/why would we do this when the tunes are keeping our max at 22-23psi and the normal spring is working??
Just curious and since your working with BNR on testing i'd ask you before bothering them

We won't until we start to see boost drop off (venting while under boost) at WOT and I do not think it will ever be a problem with the stock turbo (unless some crazy bastard starts pushing more boost than that at the track......). I do not know the difference in spring rates from the installed spring, yellow spring and stock springs. I'm am still pretty new to turbos myself and I am still learning. Plus Eric will be in here in a bit to correct me if I'm wrong......lol

Well, the BNR/Forge BPV is installed. It only took me about an hour this time, it definatley helps when you know what's ahead of you. I used the extension, T30 socket and ratchet to break the bolts loose (snug them up don't torque them when installing the bolts!) and the new T30 screw driver to remove the nuts and reinstall them after awards. I also used a magnet attached the not as I removed them so that I did not drop any. I did the reverse for the visible two during reinstall and the tape on the bit trick for the hidden bolt. I'm digging the BPV now as well, it's definately more my style, sounds about like stock but a decent amount louder and like the BOV, it's not very loud in the car with the windows up. Well, here are the pics and the vid.

Quick overview of how to do the install.
1. get a 6" extension (3/8" or preferably 1/4") and T30 bit
2. Pull stock air box/intake/heat shield.
3. Pull vacuum line from factory BPV.
4. Cram hand in from passenger fender side and remove three torx bolts from stock BPV.
4. Install BNR/Forge BOV or BPV replacing with factory torx bolts hand tight plus a little bit more.
5. Reinstall vacuum line.
6. Enjoy your new valve!!

I just cut my pinky finger this time, I was tore up on the stock to BOV swap. I am still bruised up, there really just isn't much room to work in there. It's doable for sure though and worth it in the end. I am digging the subtle sound of the BPV. It is just about stock and I don't get dirty looks when venting like I did with BOV!lol. So far I'm digging it.
