WARNING
After I had the key chime safety recall installed on my MyLink, it backdated the BringGo app to version 1.2 - originally is was 1.3. So far, no one seems to know what to do (see my posts about BringGo).
I am bringing it to a different dealer today. Hope this time it can be resolved.
Just an FYI in case anyone is on the fence about getting this recall/update done - if you use, and rely on BringGo like I do, until this backdate issue is resolved, then you might NOT want to get this done, yet. The fix for this seems soooo simple, just update, or install the newer version of BringGo. But there, alas, is the problem! No dealer seems to know, or understand the problem. And so far, no one at Chevrolet Customer or Infotainment Support know how to fix this either. And contacting BringGo support, they refer you back to Chevrolet to have it resolved, as they only support the app on the phones. The fix is so simple, just find and install a software update. So why is this become like jumping through hoops of fire?
What it all appears to have happened, in my view as a computer tech, is that this recall firmware update must be actually a part 1 of a 2 step process. It appears to revert the radio back to a factory default plain vanilla system. And that somewhere, like the "radio experience software update" made around 2013 that added BringGo and Siri, there is a "part 2" application update package that needs to be installed. So, where is it? So simple a fix.
