Recomended 15" tires for better MPG ?

Well I guess you can't relate. Minnesota must take care of there roads unlike here. My tires are less than 3 years old. 20k miles on them. The tread is still decent but Michigan roads, especially towards Detroit will utterly destroyed tires. There are so many potholes and chipped up road that it is impossible to avoid them. I have only lived down here for a year too. Craigslist is where I plan to get rims too. I see it worked well for you. They are listed on there all the time for dirt cheap.

Yes, Larger diamiter tire / wheel combination will always be heavier than the smaller diamiter combo ... assuming all else equal.

ie: Not spending extra for very light weight forged wheels when going larger. Not switching to a lighter weight tire when going larger.


Wheel / tire weight is definatly an issue when MPG is of concern. This exac tly why I commented that the Goodyear tires from the Eco Cruze sized for my stock 15" wheels are 1 pound heayier that the stock tires (Post 3 ).
