Removing the "Mustache" ??

If all goes well and I'm able to pick up my RS by the end of December maybe I can arrange to meet with someone and we can test fit the RS grille to the non-RS fascia.

If it fits I'm sure it will become a very popular swap, But I'm pretty sure it's going to need some effort trimming and fitting to get it sit in the non RS hole. IMHO the RS Grille and fog lights are ugly.

EXACTLY, I'm tired of the yes it is, no it won't speil. I have Urethane casting capabilities at my work and could easily run a low quantity prototype batch of full grills.

If the RS fits, i'll save myself the reverse engineering work and buy...

You should run a batch of "billet style" without a mustache, I'm sure you could sell them faster than you could make them.

HMM... So you dont think a stock looking full grill would be ok? (Similar to the RS) I just ordered a used stock grill set to start this project. I was only planning on replacing the lower. Once the mounting locations are documented. The possibilities are fairly wide open

started pulling the top grill out got the bottom clips and side clips done but could not get the top clips and did not want to break them.. but curious of how to pull the bottom grill out i notices the black plastic mesh is attached to the chrome trim by clips if its the same i think ill remove the black plastic from the chrome and just pop the chrome trim back in for the cleaner look to have that open view to the new IC ill be installing

If you can pop the lower grill off and remove the stache, could you pop the lower w/o the stache back in and take a quick pic of that area. My used grill its on its way and i'd like to get a head start on the Stache'less non-RS grill. I also plan on spending some time at my chevy dealer to help aid in removal w/o breaking clips.

Butter knife and patience works fine. Look up the diagram of the grill and stick the butter knife in between each clip and pull.

The upper grill is fastened by six bolts.

I wonder how hard those are to get at without removing the bumper cover.
