I'm not sure. The body repair manual says to remove the the front fascia in order to replace both the lower and upper grilles. Apparently the lower can be removed without this step, but I would err on the side of caution and follow the instructions. Alas, I do not have a helper to assist with the front fascia removal, and I don't want to do more harm than good by trying it solo.

RiverRat, you got that link? The one I was looking at does look like the lower is only clips which would make this much easier than having to pop the front bumper cover on and off for test fit. The upper will most definately need the cover removed to get access to those screws.

The RS grille and fogs are super ugly. I know it's been said, but it looks like aome mazda ****e. I don't think my coveted Z spec sema grille will ever be available for purchase . I'm not sure why though. Chevy sells grilles with the only change being the plastic lining around them (normally chrome). If they sold the zspec grille people would be all over it

Christmas came early and got this in the mail today. I don't suggest trying to take the lower off from the front. See pic of the clips its made to be bent in from the inside. You could risk marring up your bumper cover if you try taking it off from the front. I will have the stache' cut out to see what the foam is right behind it. Some foam may need to be removed to get an "RS" non-mustache type of grill. Not sure how much or if any at this point.
I also received a 4 page instructions manual which is way more detailed than any of the diagrams I've found so far. I will upload it on Monday.
I will have pics of the test fit over the holidays when I plan on doing my HID projector install. Finally got the new lens. Front bumper will need to be removed for this as well.

The stock grill compared to the RS grill is much deeper where the hex mesh starts. It looks like the z-spec grill is pretty flush mounted as well. The impact bar is the least of my worries, its a matter of hiding it similar to how the RS does.

You can tell the economy has changed greatly since i last modded a new vehicle. Being 2013 you think the outcry of wants for a grille would cause an aftermarket company to get on board. but since so many aftermarket companies went outof businesslast few years.
It just surprises me that this grille is so complicated to be had. The aftermarket support for this vehicle seems to be awfully weak, which personally I appreciate and enjoy since now it takes a slight but of work and art/skill to mod your car. I am very excited for the warm climate to come back around since I am very confident with my ability to modify/alter and even form molds for producing cosmetic parts but recently moving to a place with no garage...well sucks lol
