Not offensive at all. I like the RS package alot but have been open about the fact that I think it's overpriced. I would have loved to see more of an SS spec with more power for that price. I don't mean to come across as harsh on the package itself.

Agreed My dad bought his ss supercharged cobalt back in 06 for like 19.5k and they came with performance and cosmetic upgrades. If the RS was getting a performance jump on it then id be trading in my car. The RS looks great but just not for me at the moment.

Yep. That is exactly what I was talking about earlier. It would have been cool if they did this to the RS stock. Other tunes are out there but it would be cool to have it done already and come with a warranty.

Regardless the kits will be cool if not "too" expensive.

If you think this is pricey you need to look at the Ford Focus ST. Nice car but by the time you load up some options you are at 30k with taxes and destination charges.

They have a great powertrain and it is very quick but not another 10k quick!

Again its not an SS.... Its an RS the slight tweek of the final drive and suspension was just a bonus for what the price is.

I don't think you need to load the focus st up I think it comes nice as is. The price is kinda high, but all the companies prices are rising.

The Focus is a step up tier-wise from where the Sonic sits but I agree...it can get very expensive loaded up.

The certainty of the Fiesta ST coming to the US (looks like for the 2014 model year) answers why the Sonic will get the 1.6T. Also makes a mid-year (Spring 2014) intro seem more likely. Now the question is will Chevy go ahead and call it SS?

Most likely not. They have said that they are no longer going to use SS on anything but top tier vehicles and the chance that they are going to release an actual "SuperSport" model makes me think they are going to stick to that decision.

Yes Chevrolet has said that. And they will stick to it. I just know Chevy will only use the SS for selected top tier performance oriented vehicles. But I suspect there will be a Sonic SS regular production car before there will be a Corvette SS regular production car.

No Noob here. I had a 87 Buick Grand National for years for I sold it. That was Fun to drive. I have owned nothing but Eco vehicles since but they were just ok to drive not, FUN FUN FUN!!!! The Sonic is like a Go Cart with all the toys!! :banana:

A stock intercooled Grand National made 235hp. You need to make 435hp before the power to weight gets down to 8:1.

Yes the Stock GN made 235 out or the box!

5857 is the Brute Turbo for that vehicle
