Stereo Install (keeping headunit, but replacing speakers and adding amp)

Need some help

Hey guys..

I would like to do the install the same way but my amp doesn't have a high level input. So I have to use a high/low converter right?
Can anyone tell me how to make the install using such a converter? My goal would be to run my new comp system though the amp, so do I need to wire the speakers to my amp or to the converter? I'm new to the car Hifi stuff

I appreciate your help!

Btw I won't install a sub. All I need is to run a 4 channel amp to provide power for the new compo systems running through the stock headunit

Take the speaker cables from the head unit, splice them into the high input of the LOC.
The outputs in the LOC should be RCA's, join those to the inputs on the amp.
The amp outputs go to the speakers.

Ah ok thanks. So I can't use the stock wire for the new speakers and have to wire it directly from the amp?

n/m i thought I would connect the new headunits rca output to the amp and that's it. Didn't know that I have to connect the speakers also to the amp.
Like I said, I'm new to this...

I think you should ask someone to help you with it.

Well I think I got it.. I have to get the signal for the loc from the speaker cables, connect the output of the loc (rca) to the input of the amp. My loc will have remote out, so I connect it also to the amp.. Then wire up the new speakers with my 4 channel amp..

Power and - is clear.. Did I miss anything?
It's learning by doing

Make sure you wire up your sub loc to the non amplified side of the 4 channel. Depending on your loc, it may not support an amplified signal and make magic smoke.

if you're looking for a small sub option, i built this downfire box and sounds good... u could probably make it cheap and even get another small pbr amp to power it

Can you confirm for me what to do with it? so back of my stereo will be extra speaker cable coming out of the HU or do I need to splice the existing wires?

if its splicing do I splice the left AND the right or just one?

You have to splice into the channels. You can use left and right or just use one channel. Its a sub so either is fine.

I spliced into that same wire at the wiring loom in the kick panel on the front left of the car.
That's also where I'm getting the speaker connections from the head unit.

If you cant get to the cig lighter wire, use a fuse tap at the fuse box. The cig lighter fuse is there.

I'm gonna dig this up because it's been a huge inspiration and guide for me.

1: I see that the 300x4 amp says only 40hm stable, but all the speakers are 2 ohm. But I can't find any 2ohm amps to fit that space. Has this been an issue for others/OP?

2: another thread said you could heat up the old speakers and reuse their mounting cones. Is this feasible?

3: Is there anything incredibly complicated to the crossover/remoteless amp install? I've done non-amped speaker installs and simple dual-sub installs, so I have a general knowledge of these things.

1. You can run most amps at 2 ohms but just beware. They will run hotter and work harder so dont go crazy with volume.

2. You cut out the innards of the old speaker and use the surround as a spacer for the new speaker.

3. Amps are super easy in this car. Just take your time with it.

Okay, cool. That's exactly what I wanted to hear.

I found a good deal on crutchfield for it so I'll order that tomorrow. Just need to get some 18ga and terminal pins to pin thru the door harness, if I decide that route.

Going almost the same route as 94383Z71 on my install. Going to forego the amp for now, but love the idea of using the factory speakers as brackets for my new Inifinity Components! Save me from just throwing them out later
