Theres no point, 1.8 owners will never beleive there is that much of a difference in MPG between the two.

It still amazes me that I can drive like a complete tard with A/C on and still get better mileage than my 1.8 driven really carefully.

Seriously guys, what's the reasoning behind this? Are you always gunning it? Or is it that easy (and that annoying) to have the tcs kick in when you're tuned? Or are you that opposed to driving aids of any sort?

Mine's on 98% of the time personally. And yes, it is quite annoying to be playing around and have TC kick in and reduce power for what feels like 5 seconds. When you're trying to cross an intersection it gets a little hairy, so much that I usually wait for excessive breaks in traffic OR turn off TC/SC and just let the car sh!t and git with nothing holding it back.

Some 1.4 owners will not accept that sometimes people are stuck with what is on the lot and that the 1.4 is sometimes more than "only an extra $700". We could go round and round and still be stuck with the same arguements.

the 1.4 was not an option for me, and the 1.8 has still treated me to over 40 MPG. There really is no reason to bash the 1.8, but some people on this forum seem to thing that they are somehow better for having the 1.4 and that every 1.8 owner is an idiot. Well thats the impression I get anyways.
