Tint levels?

Yes that is correct. It also says on the glass on the car itself. Now say u have a truck or a jeep. It is legal to have the tint as dark as you want. It all depends in the vehicle

But here in MI that's absolutely not the case. I've been pulled over in 3 different trucks and my sonic all for tint, and they all cited the same stupid-ass law of "only 4 inches from the top of the window". Even worse looking than no tint at all.
I ended up just getting a script, so when I get pulled over they just eat it. Before that, our local shop sponsored a deal where if you get a ticket, they'll un/reinstall the tint for free so you can clear the ticket and keep your tint.
I understand officer safety, but tint laws for it are total BS. Just like "gun control" laws, the people the laws are aimed at sopping continue to do whatever they want, and us responsible citizens pay the price.

Here in florida, i believe the legal limit is 30% tint. I have 15% and never been stopped once and i have made eye contact with so many cops thro the tint. they just dont care here.

It's an attitude thing...I had 5% on top of 5% in my Yukon Denali on all 7 windows except for the front windshield. Pulled over for many things, but never a tint ticket.
That being said, I got a blue sonic sedan. Looking at other cars with similar colors, I honestly feel like 30-35% is just right on all 4 doors for my taste. Backing the truck up and relying on the mirrors in the truck while dark outside just wasn't very fun. And rolling on 24" wheels that close to the curb wasn't very entertaining as well.
Here in California it has always been unlawful to have anything tinted forward of the B pillars. As with most states, you'll rarely get pulled over for tint. You will, however, be pulled over for acting like a donkey in traffic, and then you'll get a ticket for tint.

Anyone ever wonder what the police tint their windows to? I've seen many around Houston that are pretty dark

Here its an attitude thing, but solely that cop's attitude.
Most of the time it's an excuse to pull you over and check you for something else. In Flint, if you have a nice car they assume you're up to something, and that's how they find out. Sometimes they're butthurt you weren't, so you get a fix-it. Most times they let you go.
But all the times I've been pulled over for legit violations, it's never been mentioned.
