Edit. I wonder if u do rubber under the mount and nylon above if they would eliminate it

I think at that point you'll have turned your solid mount back into a stock mount. LOL
Maybe a thin rubber washer underneath..... Fool with it and let us know what you come up with.

Not really. The stock mount had a lot of back and forth travel ur still torquing it down right but ur absorbing the vibration

Anyone remember what size the engine mount bolts are. Socket size and if anyone has a set of calibers the accily bolt diameter

IIRC socket size is 15mm. The bolt dia is likely the mm equivalent of between 3/8 and 1/2". I used spacers that were 3/4 OD and 1/2 ID. Hope that helps. Obviously I'm no machinist when it come to talking dimensions.

What is the purpose of the motor mounts? I hear people complain of vibration? What benefit do you get? I remember on my blown LT1 camaro I had to get solid mounts because the engine was torquing so much it destroyed the factory ones. However, I can't imagine a Sonic having this problem.

well, the stock mounts weren't designed to hold 300 horse either. Your camaro was destroying much stronger stock mounts.

I'm using the same stuff that keeps my Harley from vibrating apart so it should be good lol

Klystron, the point of the upgraded motor mount is, boiled down to its essence, to tighten up the drivetrain.
the throttle feels more connected because instead of some of the torque being absorbed briefly by the mount, it is now put right to the wheels
The shifts feel ALOT tighter, huge improvement. (manual trans) before i could feel the engine rocking thru the gear shifter and some of that slop is noticed when shifting. now it feels more direct.
I suspect coupled with the new mount it will also stiffen up the front of the chassis, as the engine will act like a brace (just a guess on that one)

As for the new mount i'm pumped about it and the price is right!! cant wait till we hear some feedback on this.
