VVT Solenoid(s)

Do I need to replace just one or a pair of solenoids for the value timing (on the 1.8L)?

I have a P0011 code and my sonic is idling rough (even died at a red light twice). I already the timing belt and gears replaced when I got the code last time and I think the solenoid(s) are to blame now. There are 2 on the passenger side front and back, but I've had some mixed information from other "car people" on whether I replace just the front or need to replace both. Anyone have more insight on this?

buddy just went thru this with his buick. was advised by good friend/professional mechanic to do both. kinda one of those, if ones failed, how soon til the next one goes right? long as its not gonna break the bank for you anyway. but if you're in there, swap'em both out.
