So I've had the Wavetrac in for about 5 days and am finally getting to some pics and review.
Following Laborsmiths lead, I got the LSD. I have learned more about how awesome it is for us to even have an LSD option, because many FWD cars don't.
The install took about an hour, and was very straightforward. Other than draining the trans and disconnecting the trans mount and drive axles, nothing else has to be opened up. I didn't even bother taking the wheels off.
My first test drive confirmed that the LSD does exactly as described. I came to a stop sign, turned the wheels and gunned it. The inside tire didn't slip a bit. It pulled me through the turn as fast as if I was going straight!
I've never been much of a road racer or pushed my car through turns much with the Sonic, but the LSD has peaked my enthusiasm for it now. I've been pushing harder and harder and the rubber still won't break.
While the price is comparable to coilovers, so is the difference in performance. Also, I got mine for $900 at 034motorsports in Fremont. They mostly do Audi and VW, but I told him about our Sonic community and how we are champing at the bit for aftermarket parts. He gave me a through tour of their facilities and showed me that they can fab anything we can dream up.
He also told me that if I sent Sonic owners his way, that he will give them a similar discount on the Wavetrac if they mention my name. Retail is $995 btw.
