Wet passenger floor after rain?

My driveway is inclined but I like to back in.

Did you really post this statement on a car forum mostly inhabited by the male version of our species?

My junk is bent to the left, but I can put it in the back end.

I could go on, but why. Imagination is a wonderful thing. Giggle to yourselves and think of the innumerable puns, metaphors, etc. that can cascade from the awesomeness of the original post.

Mine is also taking on water on the passenger side. I never noticed it leaking till my wife bought me some weathertechs for Christmas. I took it to the dealer to get fixed today and should be ready tomorrow. I have a chevy captiva for a rental.

I also have this same leak on my '13 Sonic LTZ hatchback. I first noticed the drops of water on my weathertech floormats on the passenger side of the vehicle. I knew that noone had ridden in the passenger seat, so it didn't come from anyone's shoes. Found more moisture underneath the glovebox.

My vehicle is kept in a garage at night, so it must hold quite a bit of water somewhere to allow it to drip thru. I never park near any trees, so shouldn't have anything clogged. First rain we've had here since I bought the car in early December.

I'll be taking mine to the dealer to have them check for TSB PIO826 and hopefully they can resolve this with a single visit.

Sure am thankful for this website, and the wealth of information found within.

Well i washed my car yesterday evening and no water on the floor this morning so the service bulletin seemed to be the fix for me.

I dropped off my LTZ HB at the dealer this morning. I explained what was wrong, and provided them with the TSB #. I will update this thread with what they did and if it fixed it.

Also am having them correct my slightly off-center steering wheel.

Car back from dealer. Service Dept stating 'could not replicate leaking problem'. Even though I gave them the TSB for the issue. Told me to bring the vehicle back to them if it leaks again... well as little as it rains here, it may be another 4-6 weeks before that happens again.

At least they did correct my steering wheel issue.

It was a 50 mile round trip drive to the dealer (that was the dealer I purchased the car from). Will take it to local dealer closer to home next time. Saved the paperwork from this visit.

The dealer did try a water test, as the car was covered in hard water spots when I picked it up last night.

The key is if the car is on a slight incline (only 2 or 3%) it can leak. If the car is flat it won't leak. That's pretty lame they did not apply the fix after driving 50 miles. You even pointed out what the fix was. I would not have been happy!

When it leaked my car was backed into a spot where the hood of the car was pointed down at a 2-3% incline. Does the leak occur if the front of the vehicle is up or down the incline... or does it matter?

According to the engineer the front has to be on the high side. I don't think yours should have leaked parked with the front down.

OK this is right from the service invoice (Maddmatts may have been correct).

Removed fresh air cowl screen found signs of water entering fresh air door scoop. Made a water damn and added foam block to plastic cowl. Pressure tested windshield and other sealing area's no leaks found. Water tested after reassemble no water getting in fresh air scoop now. Reassembled interior. Note engineers have found water getting in when parked on a 2 degree incline most drive ways with right side slightly higher. Water test after repair and those conditions OK at this time.

Mine gets parked the same way, the TSB did fix my leak....
