Porting the Intake Manifold

Yes, have you read the thread? The main benefit is better top end. It helps raise the rpm that that the motor starts losing power at (usually around 5,300).

I just found out that the ECP tune (which most Trifecta'd 1.4T's are) will allow you to port your intake without the need for an mmediate retune for it to run right. I should have figured that much, but I wanted to be safe.

That being said, I'm porting this Saturday. Pics to come.

It's too damn bad it's a two hour drive out there I'd be more than happy to give a hand / port mine as well

I drove it around yesterday and all is well. I don't feel any obvious gains, but considering the size of the restriction removed I can't imagine it not helping flow.

One thing I found concerning was the discovery of oil that had found its way to the intake side of the cylinder head. I have decided that a catch can will happening soon.
