I've been reading about Ford Ecoboost 1.0L 3-cyl Turbo. Wow, this thing is awesome! They are supposed to bring it to the USA for the Fiesta this year.
123 hp ; 148 ft-lbs and kick-arse mpg, >20% better than the 1.6L
On the Ford UK website, the Fiesta brochure lists (watch out for Imperial gallons, all these numbers in US units) Note: their mileage tests are a different standard, just for comparison purposes.
Urban / Extra-Urban / Combined in mpg(US)
1.0L Ecoboost (123 hp) 5-spd manual 44 / 63 / 59 (with auto stop-start)
1.25L Duratec (80 hp) 5-spd manual 35 / 56 / 45
1.6L Duratec Ti-VCT (103hp**) auto-6 28 / 52 / 40
**103 hp seems very low for a 1.6L NA, it may be detuned for fuel economy?
