I know some used these on their Sonic and the drop was no where near as advertised. In this, search is your friend.
The greater the drop using just coil springs the harsher the ride. I am sure no one with experience lowering cars will dispute this statement.

I agree there. Any one heard what their drops were? Id love to go coilovers but they are alot more lol. I also was told that coilovers make the ride very stiff as well.

I believe the majority of coilovers are dampening and preload/height adjustable so much of the ride can be tuned in, firmer, softer and everything inbetween. And like springs the base ride can vary depending on application and manufacter.
Of course I don't have them so I'm not the best source lol. Laborsmith, JusticePete, & Stratton would be able to shed some light about the Pedders and I think IraqiVet's running the BCBGs

Pedders coilovers are GMPP approved, if warranty is a concern. Pedders and the BC BR coilovers function much the same. Both can dial in the ride you want with simple clicks. As far as I know, these two are the only manufacturers offering coilovers designed for the Sonic.
A benefit of coilovers when compared to drop springs is the drop springs will quicken the wear on the shock absorbers where the coilovers are designed for lowering, therefore will be effective for as long as oem.

I personally am inclined to Pedders because the way they make them (hot rolling instead of cold rolling) makes for a more consistent product. It also means they are in demand and can not be produced as rapidly or in the numbers that some others are.

Nope..just have a stroller and a box of cleaners...gonna try a more level surface later i guess so i can measure to the ground..dont think that should make a difference though

Non N. A. Sonics (Aveos) are four lug. Did not look at the K Speeds, but I sense they are Korean made.

That is correct. The only Sonics built at the Lake Orion plant are for Canada, US, Mexico, and South America.
All others are built in Korea until later this year when a 3rd plant will come on line to produce this vehicle.
