This is Chevy's problem and unlike Engis Chevy has the resources to resolve it; the question is this: Does Chevy have any interest in promoting a resolution.

Although I have unsuccessfully kept it secret, I have modified several aspects of the Sonic. But those mods were based on experience and I like to think I had some understanding regarding each. I have no understanding of cell phone technology and for the moment to not desire to "root" it, but that may change as I do more investigating.

But it seems to me we should not HAVE to consider taking that path. None of us HAVE to mod our Sonics and few of us do.

Macehammer, whether it's a "minor inconvenience" or not is whether it's important to you, and whether it was a deciding factor in the purchase of a Sonic. For me, Mylink (with the touted release of Bringgo) was a key factor in buying this car over the Fiesta or Acccent, and why I waited for the 2013's to be released (2012 Sonics didn't have Mylink, and I could have gotten a better deal on a 2012 end-of-year.)

I like the Mylink paradigm, that your smartphone is the data and communications 'engine' that drives the infotainment system, rather than relying on expensive, proprietary in dash systems, or GPSs suction cupped to my windshield with cords all over the place for navigation. Google Navigation on my phone works fine, but it's on a small screen and a hassle to input an address if its voice activation doesn't recognize an address. I LOVE the idea of Bringgo bringing nav from the phone to the bigger Myink screen.

In terms of the other apps --- Pandora and TuneIn ---I'm indifferent to the coordination with Mylink. Both work just fine for me directly from the phone with bluetooth.

Some people may be comfortable modding their cars and their phones, but I'm not.

Hey everyone, I've been reading this thread since day one, because I want bringgo. I have a verizon droid 4 which is not compatible. But today, while sitting in class the idea dawned on me, would bringgo work on an Apple Ipod touch?? I would check right now for myself, but i'm in class all day and my ipod is a home.

Maybe someone can grab their ipod real quick and try it.

I doubt it. It uses the phone signal to locate you. Think of maps. If you are on wifi you can use maps to get directions on an iPod, but once you get going in the car, it won't show you where you are. Turn by turn in the app wouldn't work.

but I think you have to plug the ipod/phone into the car, so with that case on, I don't think it would be possible.

To clarify, yes, I have a DROID 4.

I got it working on mine by grabbing device spoofer from the play store ($1.50) and changing to the samsung galaxy sIII model that worked for the bringgo...downloaded the app and then switched back to droid 4 with device spoofer and now it works pretty darned good. Used it to navigate to my kiddo's daycare this morning and afternoon, with a few detours this afternoon, worked well. I think it's actually compatible, they just haven't tested it. Only issue I have is that if I plug my phone into the car's usb port to charge, it goes into mass storage mode, and then you have no maps so the app closes. You have to use a cigarette lighter adapter to juice up your phone. Also, your phone must be rooted to use device spoofer.

I also had to use the play store through the browser to find it and download it. It still said it was incompatible but allowed me to push it to my phone anyways.

Instead of the radio cutting off and voice directions coming over the speakers my iPod plays over the directions. If I pause the music before switching to the radio this doesn't happen. But with the iPhone to use bringgo it has to be plugged in, and every time you plug the phone in it automatically starts playing the iPod. Is there any way to stop it from doing this? Or is it only my phone?

Same for me. I held off and got one of the first 2013's in the area. It was very annoying for the update to keep getting pushed back and then to have only a handful of handsets "certified" for use. Little annoyances like this always stick to mind when it comes time to get another car in the future.

I'll see if I can replicate this on my way home later. Mine switches automatically to iPod music when I plug it in too. I never thought about an override for this. I know I haven't seen anything in settings. :/

Yes, a new version for the iPhone became available yesterday which addresses the Home/Office issue, and implements support for the iPhone 5 screen resolution. We are working with Apple to have the In App Purchase issue resolved ASAP. We hope to have positive news for you on this shortly.

It's my understanding that Key Lime Pie will be released sometime in May, coinciding with Google I/O. Are you guys planning to address the compatibility of BringGo with these latest versions of Android? I have a Nexus device which gets the version updates pretty quickly, but major mainstream devices (lots of users) like the GS3 are usually not that far behind on the updates.

My issue with phone compatibility still isn't resolved, but I have to give GM points for following up. Last week, an Infotainment support person said she would follow up with me on Monday, and on Monday she did call. No resolution, but said someone would follow up with me again later in the week. This morning I got a call from someone else to update me that the issue had been escalated. Still no resolution, but it seems that at least someone is keeping track of it. He promised another follow up call tomorrow.

So it seems like all of our collective posting and squawking and tweeting has gotten somebody's attention. Still no new phones added to the Bringgo compatibility list, but hopefully that will change soon.

Ok, I tried Bringgo with my iPod music playing and it paused my music to say the directions. I'm not sure why your music is playing over the directions. :/ I wonder if there is a setting somewhere?

I don't know. It did it the first 2 times I tried bringgo and had to open the iPod on my phone and hit pause to get it to stop both times. Today it worked the way I thought it would/should. Maybe a glitch in my phone or bringgo but now it works fine.

I have an iPhone 5, and just downloaded an update for the BringGo... it addressed supporting the 5 as well as "bug fixes." Was that addressed by the update?

The only bug fix I know of is what it says under details. Apparently the iPhone 5 wouldn't save your home or work locations.
