1/4 Mile Times...... Get in here!!!

Well, I've been intending to get some data and finally got around to it. This is not official drag strip data. All runs were done on typical asphalt, with only a couple practice starts, and were timed using the android app 'aLapHD' recording data from a Qstarz BT-Q818 10hz bluetooth GPS receiver.
First up, totally stock 1.4T 6M LT sedan:
60’ 2.8
0-30 3.1
330’ 7.0
0-60 8.8 (shifted a bit early)
660’(1/8 mi) 10.7 @ 67.4
¼ mi. 16.3 @ 87.0
Next up, 1.4T 6M LT hatch with Trifecta custom tune as only power mod:
60’ 2.8
0-30 3.0
330’ 6.9
0-60 7.8
660’(1/8 mi) 10.3 @ 72.6
¼ mi. 15.5 @ 91.8
all tests at 1260' elevation, 30-38 deg F
Overall, the shorter distances seem a bit slow but the 1/4 times actually look pretty decent. I'm not too worried about the absolute accuracy since I was personally more interested in comparing the two cars, but figured posting a couple more examples wouldn't hurt.

Thanks for sharing! I see lot's of qtr mile times but not many zero to sixty....which I am more interested in.

Playing around with Torque now that I finally have 3rd gear again.
I got 15.9 best 1/4th, 7.6 best 0-60, and a whopping 165 best hp. Not sure what's going on there, UG showed a much higher number for hp.
I clearly need a launch tutorial, I'm not at all smooth at getting rolling in a hurry, and I also need better reflexes, several times I got slapped down by the rev limiter.

Sword, that sig is getting kinda long.:blankface: I think it's time for a build page.
Also, if your Torque app numbers are at all accurate, then your launch is your weakness. 96mph means you are picking up speed faster than my best qtr run in which I got 14.9 @94mph.
Does the app have info for 60' times?
What technique are you using to launch?
I just got my stage 4 and aluminum flywheel in, so I don't have a clue yet on what works best for launch with this set-up. But I'm gonna guess that 2k rev is a good place to start.

I don't see a 60' time listing on there anywhere, no. Doesn't mean it doesn't exist, I just don't see it so far.
Launch:
1: Engine warmed up, TC off, full stop wait for app to say Ready under 1/4th time
2: push Throttle in, let clutch out, trying to find the sweet spot where there's a little chirp but no hop, pulling the clutch out smooth but fast and not going quite full throttle because that seems to waste more time than it saves.
3: By 25 WOT, keep throttle in, punch clutch shift to second release clutch
4: By 56 repeat NLS to 3rd
5: By 88 repeat NLS to 4th
6: ???
7: profit
I will contact Kevin re more details on the new clutch.

My thoughts exactly. I played with torque at the track and found it to be very inconsistent.

I'm not claiming these are accurate numbers or anything, just fooling around with the app and trying to improve. I'd love to hit a strip but they are still closed up here, it may be spring but it's 29F out and flurries today. Leaving for Dallas in a week hopefully I can find one down there.

Yea 4th does sound like an extra shift for the M32 trans. 3rd gear hits the rev limiter around 99 mph.
Play around with different RPM launches and after you find something that workds good try different clutch enagement rates, and then throttle postions, and then repeat. And then....

I am staying WOT once I get there but I feel like it takes a little while at launch to get the hammer all the way down; wheel spin, hop aren't really getting me moving are they?
Not sure where 3rd tops out but I thought it was in the 88-90 area, which I hit before 1/4th

Actually, a little wheel spin is good for creating engine load to spool up the turbo. By the time you regain traction, you should be close to full boost. The trick is riding the traction fence just right so you don't sit there in a cloud of smoke.
Hop is bad, a little spin is good.
