lol yes the sporster is a girls bike. and its a great bike for people that want to start out. but it pisses me off because people buy a sportser and think there a biker. i did 24000 miles last year on my bike. try that on a sporty

just going threw this post and noticed this.. I have a 2002 883 sportster owned it for 3 years now.. I have rode it to bike week in dayton from maryland two of those years straight threw.. around 17 hours it took me.. I have put over 30,000 miles on my bike i ride it year round. :banana:

well if the snow holds out for this week and my dam parts ever show up from GMparts.com i should be starting to put things in i have to roll and pull my fenders and rear qt this weekend. and if all gos well she will be on the new coils and wheels buy the 6th

ok update gmparts.com sucks they said 3 days to prosses then 5-7 days to ship. then i fine out there a hour and a half away. picking the car up in a few hours and then driving down to get my parts.

Ooooohhh...I know ZachTullier (sp?) pulled his fenders a little bit, but I'm excited to see how it looks with a more aggressive roll and pull. Our fender flares are one of my favorite design details on this car, on the hatchback at least. The hatchback already looks so fat relative to its length.

I should be able to make it but I may not arrive until 3pm-ish. Although, I may trade a shift at work so I can show up earlier. By then I'll have my springs and exhaust on and hopefully a few other goodies.

Any plans to get the back lower?

I'm about as low as you just posted in the front, and would love to go even lower, but no until I can get the back down to even the drop.

I have just the Pedder coils in back. I removed the kit perch height adjuster completely.

i have a custom set of BC coils with shorter springs and dif cartages in the shocks. aka the lowest set up made. the rear is low. and even

Can you measure the TDC of the fenders?

Mine is 24" in back and 23.5" in front. I would like to keep the 1/2" rake and go another half inch lower all the way around.

23.4 rear and 23.2 front

and i just put them in so they should settle about a 1/4 inch or so. and i have a inch and a half lower i can go in the front and prob get a 1/4 more in the rear

Nice! Thanks for the numbers. I knew yours was lower, because my front lip is just under 2" off the ground. I realize the only way I'm gonna get the back lower is with custom coils. I had already planned to get higher spring rated coils for the back, but while I'm at it I'll try to get 1/2" lower ones.

How do you order to get the right dimension? Do I simply tell them, gimme some 8k springs but 1/2" lower than the last ones?

well thats up to you.

i did a lighter spring but changed the cartages in the shocks

what do you have from the ground to the bottom of the lip in the front
and from the ground to the bottom of the rear bumper

Also the frame rails are about 3.25" off the ground.

The reason I want stiffer rear springs is because the Pedders spring rates are unbalanced. The fronts are stiff and the rears are too soft, causing noticeable understeer.

the springs settled a bit today ill get measurements tomorrow on mine.
