Well, they were able to fix the issue with the back up cam warning using PI0929: My Link Radio - XM Inoperable, Service Camera Message On, No Bluetooth Function - GMNA Only - (Mar 20, 2013). The service manager just laughed when I told him I was more than willing to absorb the expense of getting the cam installed and operational. So, sadly, I do not see a factory cam in any of our futures. Would be cool to find out if there was input capability to the unit, because now we know the unit is software capable.

But now I find that the Samsung Galaxy Note is not compatible..... :blankface:

I was asking for PI0914A, but the infotainment guy saw a new bulletin and we went with that. In fact, I specifically asked for rev A but when he searched the system he couldn't find that bulletin.

Got another email from BringGo: two responses for the price of one question. Nothing new. BringGo absolves iself of all responsibility and Chevrolet seems to be doing the same. I can understand Engis lack of concern, but Chevrolet has devoted too much in advertising BringGo to expect immunity. There is such a thing as a "reasonable man" theory and I suspect it won't be long before an enterprising attorney will realize there may be a basis for a class action lawsuit.

I know Chevrolet is busy preparing for the 2014 launches of the Z-28 and the Stingray, but I suspect there are thousands of Sonic-Spark MyLink owners unable to use BringGo due to the inability of Chevrolet Engineering to take the time to get this issue resolved.

Crystal, the issue is not individual to me, it seems to effect nearly every Sonic MyLink owner who uses an Android smartphone. I have already had the latest (I believe) MyLink update, in case you are wondering.

Chevrolet needs to step up and get this taken care of. The Sonic-Spark are intro vehicles to the Chevrolet line, and MyLink-Smartphone capabilities are important to many who buy either vehicle.

I've been getting a call every three days from Roger at GM Support saying, essentially, that there is still no resolution to my issue (Verizon Galaxy S3 incompatibility), and no message back in my record from higher up in Chevy heaven where the issue has been bumped. One thing Roger is researching is what Verizon Android phones would be compatible with Bringgo ... like I'm going to go buy a new phone?

We've gone another week with NO additions to the Bringgo.com phone compatibility list for the U.S. (6 weeks since release). While Chevy may claim that Bringgo is a third party app, so not under its direct control, what is under its control is the Chevy Bringgo website (BringGo App: Navigating Adventure With a Smartphone | Chevrolet), which STILL declares that the Samsung Galaxy S3 is compatible with no prominent disclaimer that only ONE U.S. model is listed by Bringgo as compatible. Chevy has been aware of that list on their website for weeks on this forum, but they've taken no steps to change it.

Curiously, on Bringgo's website, the language about "the majority of Android smartphones running Andoird 2.3 or higher" being compatible with Bringgo (a claim we've to to shreds on here.)has been changed to "BringGo works with smartphones using Android OS 2.3 or later." That seems like a pretty definitive statement. Based on the Chevy and Bringgo websites, a car buyer considering a Sonic or a Spark with MyLink would probably make the assumption that their Galaxy S3 would work with Bringo. That seems pretty misleading.

Regarding Engis, it probably has its hands full dealing with issues like users in its home country, Korea (which has the most installs, according to the Playstore, at 1,000 to 5,000) rating the app a pretty awful 1.7 (from 53 users). Brazil also clocks in with a 1.7.

I have a Galaxy Nexus Android phone. It says non compatible with BrongGO. Brong as in WRONG. I emailed the developers and they said they cant support every phone. I mean Come On Its a Mainstream phone with Android 4.2.1. I got the car with the MyLink for this feature. If its not going to be able to be used except by certain phones some one should step up and fix it IMO.

They need to just open the market to all phones, and let us report back any issues we have. It is compatible with the DROID 4, works perfectly for me, though it is not in their list, I hacked my phone and put it on there. There is a jelly bean update for my phone that would take it to 4.1.2 that I may or may not apply. If I do I will report back on compatibility there.

Yep. That's what was flashed the first time I went in.
The good news: Pandora came back the next morning.
The bad news: BringGo and TuneIn never worked until I took the car back in and had it reflashed.

zippypcs, welcome to the "WTF", pissed off Android phone owners who are also Sonic owners and don't understand what the problem is and get even more pissed off with the Bringgo "can't support all phones" canned response. Let me tell you the next steps that will happen. Vanessa or Crystal or someone else from GM who monitors this forum will post back, asking you for your dealer, VIN number and mileage so that they can help with this issue. It will make it seem like something will happen, but absolutely nothing will. You should also call Chevy infotainment support and start a support ticket. A nice person will call you back every few days and tell you they're still looking into it, but probably nothing is happening there either. But at least they make you feel like something is happening.

You'll check in every week or so in the Playstore, and see that your phone is still incompatible, and also check the phone compatibility list on the Bringgo website every week or so, and see that it never changes, there are never any new phones added to the list. As time goes on, you'll either get more pissed off at Chevy and Bringgo, or just finally just give up. Your mileage may vary. Those of us who are still hanging in here are, by now, in the pissed off group.

As I gathered from reading prior posts, nothing spectacular will happen in regards to this issue. I won't take time to answer anyone from the corporation about My Link troubles either. I feel like I was lied to about the possibility of having this ever work in the first place. So yes I, as alot of folks , will most likely not realize this feature to work with our Android phones. Simply put I will just forget about it. My Garmin unit will suffice as it always has. If I had it to do again I would still get the same radio just for the touch screen features and I will leave it as it is not letting any dealer touch it to mess it up. It works other than the Bring Go feature and I will leave it at that. Blue tooth works without a hitch and it plays music from all of my USB drives. Enough said.

Zippypcs, if you need help rooting your handset to potentially unlock the use of bringgo on your device, several of us should be able to point you down the right road to accomplish it.

Of course, all of this SHOULD be unnecessary, and ******* your phone is your choice, and your on the hook for that...if something were to go amiss.

zippypcs, have you used Google Nav on your Nexus? I have my S3 on a cradle with a flex arm, just to the right of the gear shift lever so I can see the screen. (I had to attach a mounting plate to the side of the shift console to hold the suction cup for the flex arm.) When you're bluetooth connected to your phone, you can long press the call button on the steering wheel to bring up S Voice, and just say "Navigate to 123 Maple Street, Anywhere, New York", and the phone starts navigating with maps. I have my Garmin in the glove compartment, but haven't used it in months. Google Nav is pretty good, and with the latest Android versions, it stops my music for the voice prompts, so it's all pretty seamless.

I haven't tried that but wonder ..did you take your radio in for the dealer update? I am scared to death that the radio will not function properly when I get it back. This due to some of the prior post about all the troubles dealers are having doing this simple upgrade? I called the dealer I bought it from and they were like didn't really know about the update. I gave them the number of the update from post that are here and it took them a week to get back with me about it. Also get the feeling it won't be a free update, per sales guy, and I am just not comfortable with the whole process. I have other dealers in a 30 mile radius but haven't taken the time to research it any further.

If they try to p*ss on that, pull up the earlier referenced part of the Chevy website that mentions it is a free update....

Yes, I got the Mylink upgrade. I was the first one done at my dealer, and it took 4 hours. But others have reported shorter upgrade times. Now, to get your dealer on board with the upgrade, Vanessa and the other GM folks on here CAN be helpful. PM them (they're on here as Chevrolet Support) with your dealer info, and the other info they need (name, last 8 of your VIN, mileage), and they've been good at getting in touch with dealers to help the upgrade go smoothly.

And print out this page from the Chevy website, BringGo App: Navigating Adventure With a Smartphone | Chevrolet, which clearly states that the Mylink upgrade is free. That's also something else that the GM folks on here can emphasize with the dealer, so you're not charged.

Mylink worked fine after the upgrade, no problems ... and likely it's getting better with the dealers. There haven't been a lot of upgrade issues reported recently on the Mylink thread.

I too have been following this thread and am rather annoyed that gm and bringo have lied to us. It should have stated that maybe one day your car might have nav but only if you buy a certain phone from a certain carrier .... Maybe
