My last tank. This next one will be even better. I've seen about a 4MPG increase since I installed my intake.. maybe coincidence.

Point I want to make is I got 35.7 mpg driving normally, used some a/c, cruise control and I had to pass a couple of slugs with full throttle bursts more than once....

The issue is you do not know if that 35.7 mpg is accurate due to the pump needing to cut off quickly. With the miles so low a couple of tenths of a gallon can make a difference.

Google tips on recording mpg. It is amazing the length people will go for accuracy.

How is that for service? Just happened that way. Can't promise this all the time. The wife is about to have our third child. Also, Mondays and Tuesdays are my long days.

Mainly when I get a chance to get on my laptop. I hate dealing with spreadsheet on my tablet.

Here is a quick update:

Swordsmith is easily winning the "Long-Haul Trucker" award @1795.9 miles.

Preloader is also easily winning the "I <3 OPEC" award @18.668 MPG.

sx sonic is winning the overall MPG @45.554, but others are close.

d.p. is winning "I drive WOT on the highway" award with 24.984 MPG.

Newcomer sinnerone is winning the "Change Purse" award for having the highest MPG using regular.

Macehammer is winning the "Audit me, I have pics and a tinfoil hat" award.

EDIT: as requested GeneralZod wins the D-bag award.

Updates:

Red_RS is currently leading the "Fancy Pants" award in the RS MPG category.

Preloader has upped his stats to 19.203 MPG for the "Double Fisting Bushels of Corn" award and "I <3 OPEC" award. As he is the only one that has posted using E85.

Ungawd is currently winning the "I have a skinny left leg" award for the best MPG with an automatic transmission.

I might make an LTZ award...

We have 15 users and many entries. Good job guys, we aren't even a 1/3 into the month yet.

OMG.. that one cell that is showing on Sword's row, the color is wrong and it's bugging the sh!t outta me. Otherwise, I am pleased with the outcome of this!

I didn't know how many entries there would be, I wanted it to be clear who was in what range, I thought that a color range would be the best way to do that. I can also set it up as something similar to a bar graph, but the numbers are so close in such a tiny cell it doesn't show as clearly as the color range.

It is a glitch in the matrix. It isn't you, it is Office.

I inputted his gallons first giving him a white boxed score. He can't get out of that color now.

With multiple entries this problem might come up again. But I don't find it an issue as long as the sort function stays sane. Again, not your issue.

It bugged out on me once already and I have the custom sort selection correct. I dropped a menu down and clicked off and it sorted them correctly.

Now if we can get it to figure the awards automatically, that would be amazing.

I tried on a new spreadsheet and the result was like a blowout on the highway. I chuckled, closed Excel, and remembered why I dislike it.

as far as the graph goes, I'll leave the real graphs to you, which is why I wasn't upset when the cell graphs didn't look right. That could be an issue, I think Excel 2003 had the easiest and most solid bar graphing style. 2007+ does odd things only those at MS know why. Who knows, A line graph might work better.

I think the pie chart will be the big tell. As in multiples showing the variations throughout in multiple charts.

Generally, the bar graph function gets pissy on excel when you dare to get slightly fancy. And then when you mess it up, it is like no turning back.

Perhaps, but that wouldn't put me at 40mpg. I went to the same pump, and I didn't fill it after it clicked off. I did 85 miles on a warmed up engine. Even driving 200 or more wouldn't push it up 5 miles per gallon.

I was doing 75 for a good portion, and I could tell at that speed, the engine was working (not too hard, but working) too keep that constant velocity. As in coasting down hill wasn't "coasting"

Part II of my trek will be to do a 65mph jaunt for at least an hour, to see if it raises.. and if I were really full of free time, a 45-50mph jaunt for an hour or so to see a REAL mpg gain.

As it stands right now, with my daily driver with 15% city, 85% highway, I get 31 mpg...

I have not yet begun to post up miles. I'm in Texas now, where the the nearest city is 60 miles away and the next city over is a four hour drive. I might go visit Smit before he leaves, that's still technically in Texas... or the equivalent of any four other states away.

Preloader is also easily winning the "I <3 OPEC" award @18.668 MPG.

He doesn't love Opec he loves Iowa... that's corn fed MPG there!

Interesting note that confirms a few things in the MPG discussion section. Mix drivers are getting better MPG than highway drivers. The Sonic, especially the hatch is not a clean areo car and the sedans are proving it. But we knew that anyway.

I don't see that, on my end, I am getting the same 30-33mpg from pure highway driving but with a very heavy load as I do on the same gas making about 50/50 mix city/highway. And I have gotten the same 22-23mpg on pure highway with E85 as with the same mix with that fuel.

I do think the key is one of speed, as I recall the best mpg I got was driving in the 55-65 range, and if some "mix" drivers are doing a lot of that while "highway" drivers are mostly doing 80, they're going to win even if they do end up wasting a bit doing 35 at the front and rear ends of the trips. We'd need a more detailed format to tease out that sort of data though.
