Official: What are your real world MPG Numbers

Greater DC area. Only sticking with name brand gas stations, mostly Mobil-Exxon.
I suppose it could be a premium vs regular issue, but figure it is either the car or me, and I am far more likely to be the problem.
Assuming you live in a winter climate, cold weather hurts MPG quite a bit. Your car hasn't known anything *but* winter. And it is not broken in yet. Give it time and wait until the weather gets better.

Which engine? Driving conditions? Hand calculated or DIC display? What kind of car did you have previously and what mileage did it get?
I've got a LT Turbo, 6spd.
Mileage: 3,400
Gas: 87 Octane, various stations
Average MPG: 33 (Fuelly-calculated since bought at 177 miles)
Conditions: only seen cold weather, 80-85% highway constantly
Average speed on highway: 75-80mph
Overall, kind of disappointed so far. I've shifted conservatively through the month and a half I've owned it. I guess there are a few factors to consider that are keeping it a little lower than it should be (winter months, high speed=higher tach). Runs fine on 87; haven't put 93- anyone seeing any differences there?
My 01' Jetta 1.8T actually got better gas mileage with 93 than with 87, and it ran better. Every model is different, that's for sure.

Other threads, and my experience, indicate that the 1.4 turbos are getting better fuel efficiency with 91+ octane fuels.
Your high highway speeds are killing your mileage. My UltraGauge tells me that at 65 mph on a level road I'm getting about 43 mpg (based on 1.5 gals/hour instantaneous consumption, not estimated mpg, where 65 mph/1.5 g/hr= 43.3 mpg). I'm running 93 octane Shell w/10% ethanol.
I think all our cars will see improved efficency as the weather gets warmer and all our engines break in.

according to the onstar app, my all time is 30mpg@1650mile. Sounds about right based on the lack of real highway travel until recently.

I've had the car for about a week now and my average is about 36. I am going to start some "hypermiling" habits and I'll be sure to report. I have a 1.4T 6spd.

I am loving the fact that it only took $40 to fill my tank. I had a 2007 Tacoma and it would cost almost double that. After I run through my tank, I'll let everyone know what my MPG is with some easy driving, then I'll do a tank of some more spirited driving and report back.
My commute is mostly back-roads with a speed limit of 45.

I am averaging 36.3 miles per gallon. I have an LS1 1.8l manual sedan. I think the mpg is awesome. If you go on Fuelly | Share and Compare Your MPG and look up any car in Sonics class you will see that the Chevy Sonic's mpg is very competetive with other cars.
Not entirely sure what I'm doing wrong here- or if it's still in the break-in period...
Just passed the first 650 or so miles, have filled up the tank twice now. 1.8 Auto trans.
I don't punch it hard when I accelerate, but I live in Los Angeles, where the traffic is hideous. So it's almost always stop, then go conditions.
But I keep dancing around the 23.5mpg mark. Which is pretty disappointing, actually. Still breaking it in? Or am I cursed by the city driving?

if your constant stop and go with the AC on, 23 is probably going to be good for any automatic transmission car
