Trifecta just got back to me. $300 for the tune + cable rental. I'll put together the first kit, at cost, for 1400 w/o intercooler, 1900 with intercooler. Includes all hardware, installed, and tune. And I'll eat the dyno rental costs.

Thats an amazing deal. I was just looking at the Vtuners site and they're thinking their 1.4t turbo swap ugrade will run $4,500 when all's said and done.

$700 flanged header
$700 gt25 turbo or smaller
$100 water/oil feed lines
$150 turbine exhaust work
$400 Intercooler and piping
$150 BOV
$100 boost gauge
$65 mech. Boost controller

Approx $2365

I know the flanged header and turbo space is the biggest obstacle, but it's very doable. And once it's accomplished, the rest will move quickly.

Well just the flanged header.. We have space we just need that one piece:/

You'd be surprised how easily a custom motorsports shop can whip one up for you.

If you haven't toured your local shops, I'd give it a shot. Or if you find a good deal on a used header, like the ones you've been looking at for other engines, even lesser equipped shops can modify and weld on a 1.8 head flange for much less cost.

I'm really excited to see the first 1.8 boost conversion.

There was a low boost 1.8 90's Volvo wagon running 13.6 all night last time I was at the track and I was sprung on it.

I'm not suggesting you do the conversion for all out power initially. But once the details get ironed out, you will have inexpensive options to power up very effectively.
