Ya that is my bad. I had a brain fart on the name
Thanks bud ya made us both look bad.
LOL I was going to say isn't that a coupe?
If that is what is coming out in '16 I'm so trading in. Having owned sedans and hatches I think it's about time for a coupe. Besides...it's my midlife crisis and I can do what I want.
You make a valid point, but some of us rarely carry even one (human) passenger, let alone 2 or more. The problem for me is trying to get a wet, muddy dog in and out of the backseat. That's why I love the hatch and nearly always have the back seats folded anyway. Would love a 2 (3) door hatch with that roofline. I expect the aerodynamic benefit would result in even more impressive mpg.
True,
But the point being sedan vs coupe in the end function SHOULD outweigh cosmetics. At least in my opinion and we all know about opinions.
the only complaint ive ever had on coupes, mind you I am only 5'9" and single and don't have kids or anything, is the heavy doors.. down the road youll need door pins and itll sag n **** n be annoying.. my cavalier was like that you had to lift the door n shut it
I'm liking that 2-door, but they need to change up the front a bit. The face looks too similar to what we have now.
Would be good to have some competition with the Elentra and Forte C(K)oupes.
Or just give us this:
This concept is designed to the same platform as the current ATS and the future Camaro. But I would be happy with a slightly smaller version on Sonic underpinnings.
I do not recall sagging as a problems with two door vehicles I have owned. I will say the doors on the newer models are long and heavier than on older models, the line being, say, 1980 or so.

I definitely like the 140.
I sometimes like the 130.
If either (recognizing concept and production can not be congruent) come on line, we are talking about my next new car. With or without Sunrise Yellow.
Chevrolet bean counter arguments against a small two door coupe is it would take sales away from the Corvette so Pontiac (and Saturn) were given leave to fill that niche. GM bean counters did not care who carried the ball and caved in to Chevy division demand that a division other than Chevy would.
So, we now await for either Saturn or Pontiac to introduce a two seat two door coupe based on the Sonic (Gamma II) platform. For some odd reason, and I am sure some SOF member will enlighten me as to what that reason could be, I do not expect either Saturn or Pontiac to go out on the limb and introduce a two door two seat coupe/hatchback.
But if Saturn and Pontiac give a bye, and Chevrolet decides to go in that direction, I am ready, willing, and able. And I suspect I am not alone.
