TTR Motor and Transmission Mounts Installed

Installed my TTR mounts. Installation was very easy. Thanks to Preloader and his nylon spacer trick. I picked up some black nylon spacers. Could only find metrics but they were very close to 1/2" ID and 3/4" height when converted to inches. Love the look on the car. Is the TTR mount taller than the factoryy mount. It looked like without the spacers the mount wouldn't have fit under the cut-out in the DDM heat shield. I am a little worried about the mount loosening up with the added vibrations and wondering if aluminum bushing might be better. Once I removed the factory mounts and got to feel how much play was in those bushings I knew I was in for a ride.

Yeah I guess there was a little more vibration than I was expecting. I felt like I was driving a NASCAR. I know they need some mileage to break in and I am really hoping the vibrations die down a lot. The vibrations weren't so bad as much as the noise cause by the vibrations. I felt like I had my old subwoofers back in this car. Only really bad when starting from a stop. Not bad at all when cruising.

I could definitely feel a difference in performance. Everything feels so tight and connected.

Overall I am pleased with the mounts I just hope to god the deep sound the vibrations create will fade away with some miles before the neighbors kill me.

The mount isn't taller than the factory but the mounting tabs aren't as thick as the factory, that's what the washers are there for. Preloader hasn't had any issues with the nylon bushings loosing up, just make sure they are snug and check them every once in a while.

I guess they didn't exactly loosen..... But they did allow a little more turn when I retorqued them after the mount settled. And trust me the vibrations will calm waaaaay down. It will be a gradual process, until one day you'll barely remember what the first day felt like.

I love my TTR mounts and couldn't imagine using the stock sponges for a performance application.

Thanks guys. I love the feel with these mounts and I have a long road trip coming up in a couple of weeks so I should be able to break them in fairly quick. I will probably swap the spacers out with aluminum ones once the vibrations settle down.

Really? Wonder what the difference is? My car vibrates like crazy at low RPMs/ moving from a stop. I'm not giving up though, going to put on some miles and see what happens.

Maybe its just personal preference and the way our minds think differently. It shakes my mirrors and such, but to me. Its not even nearly as bad as everyeveryone claimed to be. Maybe I was expecting so much vibe that it doesn't seem too bad hahah!

Spacers were used to lift the DDM intake heat shield up a bit to allow the TTR mount to fit through the heat shield cutout. Also it's been said that they reduce vibrations but I have never run my car without the spacers so I can't speak to that.

Has anyone with the heatshield think about cutting the cutout in the heatshield a little taller to clear the motor mount? I may try this and not use the spacers.

Did it. Cut the two lower openings towards the motor out to be a little taller. Although the heat shield isn't as perfect a fit as it was designed for it goes in there just fine. The only thing is the pipe that inserts into the grommet doesn't go in as far as the shield is lowered it is not perfectly lined up with the grommet. I'm happy with it. Everything fits and seems fine. No more nylon spacers.

Oh and I am really loving my mounts. I actually went back to stock on the upper mount for a couple days since I was torn whether or not I wanted to keep it. I guess once you go Poly you never go back. Car felt like crap with the stock mounts so I put the TTR mount back in. These mounts really are great and the vibrations/noise grows on you and isn't bad at all after putting some miles on. Thanks TTR for the great products. I am definitely keeping the mounts on and after going back to stock my mind was made up real quick

Mine fit without the spacers or a need to cut the shield, but it was not square and level. And that is why I pursued the spacers.

Yeah the spacers are definitely a good quick fix to the problem and for perfect alignment I would recommend them. Honestly I didn't even think about the pipe sticking out for the grommet until after I tried fitting it back in. Luckily it worked out ok and I feel a little better not having those spacers. Oh and just to point out, I didn't have any issues with the spacers they worked fine. Just trying an alternative. They did get compressed quite a bit when tightening the mount down though.

Thanks, I am happy with the colors. Just to show how great TTR's service is, they actually called me before shipping the order to make sure the Trans mount was the color combo I wanted and not a mistake since it was opposite of the motor mount.
